Valentina · Privacy policy
Your privacy matters.
Valentina: AI Chat Companion is an iPhone app by HeyLabs (Vaibhav Singh), called “we” and “us” below. This policy explains what Valentina keeps on your iPhone, what it sends to the services it uses, and how to erase it.
No account
Valentina has no sign-up, no password and no email. The app creates a random ID for your iPhone and keeps it in the iPhone's Keychain. This ID, not your name, links any subscription to you.
Your chats stay on your iPhone
Your conversation with Valentina, and the short memory she keeps about you (for example your name, plans or people you mention), are stored only on your iPhone. We do not keep a copy on our servers.
How replies are made
Valentina's replies are written by Google Gemini, a third-party AI service. To write each reply, the app sends your latest messages (up to the last ten), Valentina's instructions and her memory summary over an encrypted connection straight to Google's Gemini API. Every ten messages or so it also sends the recent chat to Gemini to update that memory summary. Nothing goes through our own servers, and we do not receive or keep your messages.
Google processes these requests under the Gemini API terms and the Google privacy policy. The app asks Google not to store the conversation, and on our paid plan Google does not use these requests to improve its products. Google may keep them for a limited time to detect abuse.
Your permission comes first
Before your first message, the app tells you that your messages and Valentina's notes about you are sent to Google Gemini, and asks whether you agree. Until you agree, nothing is sent. If you choose “Not now”, you can still read the app, but Valentina cannot reply.
Services we use
- Google Gemini: writes Valentina's replies and memory summary from the messages described above, after you agree.
- Google Firebase: Cloud Messaging delivers notifications to a push token for your device.
- RevenueCat and Apple: handle Premium subscriptions. Apple processes the payment; we never see your card. RevenueCat receives your device ID and purchase status.
- Amplitude: app usage analytics, such as app opened, chat opened, a message sent (its length, never its text), paywall viewed, language chosen and whether you agreed to the AI sharing, linked to your device ID.
- Meta (Facebook SDK): counts app installs and opens so we can measure our ads. Valentina does not ask to track you across other companies' apps, so the advertising identifier is not shared.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share your chats with anyone except Google Gemini to make the reply.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Valentina can send a message now and then. These are scheduled on your iPhone or sent through Firebase Cloud Messaging. You can turn them off in the app or in iOS Settings.
Erasing your data
In the app, open Profile > Erase conversation to delete your chat and everything Valentina remembers from your iPhone. Deleting the app removes the rest of its data on the device. To ask us to delete the analytics or subscription records linked to your device ID, email us.
Security and retention
Data in transit is encrypted. We keep no copy of your chats. Analytics and subscription records are kept by Amplitude and RevenueCat for as long as needed to run the app, unless you ask us to delete them.
Adults only
Valentina is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the app, contact us and we will delete what we can.
International transfers
Google, RevenueCat, Amplitude and Meta may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States, under their own safeguards.
Changes
If this policy changes, this page will be updated, along with the date below. Last updated: 27 October 2026.
